Questions

Insurance FAQs

Do I have to use the restoration company my insurance recommends?

No. In most cases you have the right to choose your own restoration company, even if your insurer suggests a preferred vendor. Your policy pays for the covered work either way. If you're unsure, check your policy or ask your adjuster, and we're happy to walk you through it.

Should I call my insurance company or a restoration company first?

If there's active damage, call us first. Most policies expect you to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, and every hour counts with water and smoke. Once the damage is under control, report the claim to your insurer. We can tell you what information they'll ask for.

What does my adjuster need from a restoration company?

Adjusters look for clear evidence of the damage and a detailed scope of work. We provide dated photos, moisture readings, drying logs, a room-by-room scope, and an itemized estimate in the format insurers use, so your claim can be reviewed without delays.

Will you talk to my adjuster directly?

Yes. We send documentation and estimates straight to your adjuster and answer their questions, so you don't have to relay technical details back and forth. You stay informed at every step and approve the work before it begins.

What if my claim is denied or only partly covered?

We review the scope with you before work starts, so you know what's covered and what isn't. If something isn't covered, we'll explain your options and the cost up front. There are no surprises at the end of the job.

How long does the insurance claim process take?

It depends on the size of the loss and your insurer, but emergency mitigation usually starts the same day. Drying typically takes three to five days, and repairs begin once your adjuster approves the estimate. We'll give you a timeline after the initial inspection.
